CONTEXT:
CRÉATEUR is a Seattle-based creative lifestyle brand fore-fronted by its quarterly Zine.
‘With CRÉATEUR Zine’s official closing on June 30th 2023, the team and I want to recognize each of the local creatives that took the time to submit to being a Featured Créative and will not have the opportunity to be published in a CRÉATEUR Zine issue. Though CRÉATEUR will no longer be publishing zines, we would still like to honor each of these creatives’ submissions and therefore have released this summer mini series, “CRÉATEUR’s Unpublished.” Throughout summer of 2023, CRÉATEUR will produce mini features on each submitted Unpublished Créative accompanied by a mini spotlight article and social posts.”
CHALLENGE:
With CRÉATEUR branching off, Unpublished needed an identity that visually shows it's an extension of CRÉATEUR, but was still a new chapter for the brand. The deliverables included a new logo and social media templates.
SOLUTION:
To ensure there was a visual connection, many of the older brand elements were still used (fonts, b&w imagery, etc.). To help Unpublished get a distinctive look, we chose to add an "electric peach" color to evoke a sense of boldness and uniqueness, much like the artists themselves. Otherwise, we chose a minimalist design to allow the artists and their work to be featured without the clash of busy brand elements.
